My name is Howard Haby. I’m a husband and dad, master of animals (3 cats + 1 dog), photographer, wine drinker and food lover, below average-poor painter (but I like it), a fun-loving, hard-laughing and all around pretty good guy. I love photography, books, movies, music, writing, and many other things as well, just like many of you. I have much to be grateful for, and the last few years of my life have been particularly amazing.
I live in Happy Valley-Goose Bay, Newfoundland & Labrador. It’s a pretty small town, and while there isn’t a whole lot to do here, my wife and I keep pretty busy. Most people consider this town to be “isolated”, but I have to agree with one of my friends when he said, “Some people consider Goose Bay to be isolated, I consider it insulated.” It’s been home for us for the last three years, and we quite enjoy it’s slower, quiet pace.
When I finished a 365 Photo Project for 2010-2011, writing and posting a photograph everyday, I found that I really missed having a personal blog. And with the birth of my daughter, Isabella, back in September, I haven’t had much of a chance to blog over the last 6 months, but this is going to be my big effort to get back at it.
Most of the stuff you’ll find here will be personal: photos, thoughts, stories and opinions. I might throw in a little information about a photo I took, or perhaps something I found that I think is interesting, but there is no real set structure or plan to speak of – just an outlet for my life. From time to time I might post a photo from our photography business, Sedna Photography, but for the most part it will be day-to-day stuff. Often, that’s the best stuff anyway.
So, this is about as short as I can make this about page. As a rule, I’m often “wordy”, but I suspect having a 6-month old at home will be the remedy for that.
Thanks for visiting my blog, drop back again sometime.
